Catalpa Cottage is a detached 19th century Cotswold cottage set in a quiet corner of Tetbury yet only a three minute walk from the centre. It is set in an elevated position above a one acre private garden. The garden comprises a patio terrace, a wonderful, large sloping lawn and two ponds surrounded by a low fence. This is the perfect place to unwind and enjoy a truly relaxing holiday.

Situated in the Cotswolds in an Area of Outsanding Natural Beauty, Tetbury is a thriving market town built around a 17th century Market Hall. It has elegant buildings and offers a unique retail experience with many individually owned shops and as well as being a major centre for antiques.

Attractions and nearby amenities

  • On the outskirts of Tetbury is Chavenage House, a wonderful example of an Elizabethan manor house and nearby is the National Arboretum at Westonbirt, set in 600 acres of rolling Cotswold countryside including 17 miles of footpaths to explore. In the autumn it offers breath-taking spectacular colour which has to be seen to be believed.
  • Within close proximity you can explore Highgrove, Prince Charles’ residence and host to some beautiful and charming gardens. Garden tours are available and is open throughout the summer, however advance booking is required.
  • Gatcombe Park, the home of The Princess Royal, is also nearby, famous for hosting The Festival of British Eventing or Badminton Horse Trials approximately 20 minutes away.
  • A short drive away up will discover the historic town of Malmesbury, the oldest borough in England, with its’ impressive semi-ruined Abbey and picturesque winding streets.
  • A little further away you can visit the Cotswold Water Park, one of the largest areas of inland water offering a wide range of nature activities and water sports. The famous Wildfowl and Wetlands site at Slimbridge and the magnificent Berkeley Castle are also within easy reach.
  • The historic Roman town of Bath which has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site is just a 30 minute drive with endless things to visit such as The Roman Baths, The Pump Room, Pulteney Bridge and Bath Abbey.
