As its name suggests, Bridge Foot Cottage is located at the end of a bridge, with a gritstone bound garden and river terrace giving you a ring-side seat next to the picturesque River Derwent. The property has been refurbished to very high standards while retaining a number of period features including beams and exposed brickwork. The spacious open plan living and dining area has a wood burning stove, but if you’d prefer to sit and watch the river flow by then the river room is the spot for you, with its bi-folding doors that open out onto the river terrace. In fact, there’s no getting away from the river, with French windows in the morning room opening out onto the riverside garden and views of the Derwent from two of the large double bedrooms.
The kitchen has stone flagged flooring along with stone mullion windows and window seats, and the central island unit is the perfect spot for sitting and chatting while preparing the evening meal. Meanwhile if the children want to let off steam, the adjacent Piggery building is a convenient games room, where they’ll find table tennis and a pool table. Once you’ve eaten, enjoy the rest of the evening by bringing a glass of wine or cup of cocoa out onto the terrace and watching the dusk descend onto the river.
