Imagine waking up to breath-taking views of the Scottish landscape ready for a day of exploring the surrounding glens before returning in the evenings to get cosy around the wood burning stove or watch the sun set from the terrace with a glass of wine in hand.
Corriedow is set in a secluded rural spot in the sweeping hills of Dumfries and Galloway. The 360° views over three glens, The Shinnel, Scaur and Dalwhat and the dramatic Tynron Doon (an Iron Age hill fort) make it a magical holiday destination. The cottage was once used as shepherd’s accommodation but after a recent renovation has been transformed into a contemporary yet cosy holiday home. The spacious open plan layout of Corriedow means it is perfectly suited for families or small groups of friends.
The cottage is situated in the Nithsdale area of Dumfries & Galloway where the star attraction is its picturesque countryside with numerous walks to be taken across the rolling hills of the Southern Uplands or by the river in the Nith Valley. The small village of Tynron is only 3 miles away from Corriedow, while a greater number of local amenities can be found at the nearby village of Moniaive (approximately 4 miles distance) and the small town of Thornhill (approximately 8 miles distance). Moniaive has two hotels, grocers/post office, café/bistro and an amazing Italian restaurant. Thornhill includes two hotels, a bakery, two supermarkets, butcher’s shop, coffee shops, a florist and independent boutiques.
